President Obama and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey in the first ever Twitter Town Hall at the White House on Wednesday.
Today, President Obama hosted the first ever Twitter town hall at the White House. Users tweeted questions to the president — under the 140 characters count, naturally — using the #AskObama tag. The social networking site picked all 18 questions and Obama responded verbally without any restrictions.
The event focused on jobs and the economy. And top Republican leaders took the chance to slide in their own snarky questions for the president:

Though, it was Republican Speaker John Boehner’s question that actually made the cut:

Obama immediately noted, "This is a slightly skewed question." In response to Boehner's tweet, the president insisted there has been progress on the job front, but not at a fast pace. "What he’s right about is that we have not seen fast enough job growth relative to the need," said Obama.
He said the government could do more to jump start job creation, but Republicans haven't been giving him the proper support to do so. Obama said, "There are some areas where the Republicans have been more resistant in cooperating, even though I think most objective observers think it’s the right thing to do."
Obama also teased Boehner for an html code error which translated to bad typing on the screen. (Let’s not forget, he has been declared The Nerd President.)
This isn’t the first time Obama reached out to the hip tech-savvy voters of America. In April, he took part in a Facebook town hall.

Are we forgetting the Reagan Economics success ....they came from General Amnesty program of 1986 Immigration reform... Imagine 11 millions illegal aliens in this country and they pay the penalty of $3000.00 each person .....that will take care of our debts.... Think about this for a moment....and those who are waiting in line to come here, can expedite the process by paying the expediting fee for each person..another contribution from people who want to be part of this society....
I'm amused at Paul Ryan's attempted publicity stunt! "I double-dare you, Barack Obama, to hand me all this attention!"
Afable, Reaganomics has been an abject failure, using a strategy of pushing off debt to keep it off the records temporarily while putting on a show intended to distract the public's attention from his agenda. Anything unfavorable to the Reagan agenda was simply censored out of the mainstream media. China uses the same strategy to ensure the adoration of the citizenry toward their leader. He was a war-monger who began the massive wealth redistribution (to the top) that resulted in our near economic collapse, laying the groundwork to impoverish the American people (who were getting much too uppity), putting them at the mercy of a few corporate behemoths. We see the results of Reaganomics in the fact that when Reagan first came into office, the US was rated at #1 in overall quality of life; it is now rated at #34. That's a mighty big fall.
I think your Regan bashing is a little unfair. The tax reform act of 1986 eliminated virtually all the loopholes. I know I was doing tax shelters at the time and it put me out of business for over a year but knowing what i do about economics it was exactly the right thing to do even though it cost me my livelihood. The problem has come from people on the right( I am one) who in Reagan's name put all the tax gimmicks back in the code after he was gone. He worked well with Tip O'Neil and the tax changes eliminated phoney developments with no economic need to be built with actually necessary commercial real estate and plant projects. He would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what crap has been done in his name. The current young Turks are Ayn Rand devotees. Reagan had compassion for people they do not. He also was not a lover of corporations but of entrepreneurs who started and ran small business. He was a union member in Hollywood.
Absolutely, DHFabian. Reganomics is a joke and the Republicans are trying to use with different names. The simple fact of the matter is that "trickle down" does not trickle down enough. Certainly not to the middle class. The analogy for I came up for the difference between Republicans & Democrats...Cats are all about "me, me, me." Take care of me, pamper me, give me the most food. Dogs are about pleasing and taking care of others. Cats are most likely Republicans.

I am a conservative republican and I respectfully ask you to please drop the birther stuff. It makes us look like morons. Deal with real issues there are plenty of them. He is the President and like it or not he is my sons Commander in Chief just like LBJ was mine. I did not like it then and I do not like it now but I still saluted and so does my son.
the "disenchanted democrat" is throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks. she is here as a paid employee of someone, trying to convert democrats into not voting in the 2012 election.
"disenchanted liberal" is a liar.
The Federal deficit was $1.3 trillion. Eliminating tax expenditures (subsidies) would increase revenues by over $1 trillion per year, nearly solving the deficit problem alone. Since most such subsidies go to the incredibly profitable corporations and the top 10% wealthiest segment of the population, it's incredible the GOP is being so obstinate on this point. Doubtless there are some of those tax expenditures which are truly beneficial to the economy -- going to small businesses and struggling industries -- and should not be eliminated, but there is no reason why the Federal government should be subsidizing Big Oil or corporate jets or a great many other undeserving entities. Certainly cuts are necessary, but not radical amputation.
frondo no argument here I vote to a return to the real Regan tax structure not the mythical one.
Your mean before Reagan.
Representative John Boehner, today's Twitter nitwit of the day...
No ethnic nationality should be responsible for solving the debt of this immigrant espoused nation for the sake of the congressional majority. If the President's administration lacks creativity in the area for how to stir economic growth and create new jobs, where are the ideas and support from those who oppose his work ethic to make those things happen? They're less creative and hoping for a failure on the President's part to save them from being seen as worthless in regard to the elected office they hold. There's no explainable, sensible, believable reason that "this" nation should allow it's dirty underwear to be viewed all over the world in the way that it is. Because of the Republican stubborness to be "for the people" this countrys' reputation, integrity, honor, not to mention common sense is/will be tarnished for a long time. If Republicans have brokered some under the table events with other countries, and within their home states, in an attempt to undermine the current, nation-building minded administration, for their own political benefit, it's just WRONG.
