Since his passing in 2009, Teddy Kennedy's legacy has left a lasting impact on U.S. politics. Elected officials and citizens alike are often reminded of his steadfast commitment to affordable healthcare, while his 2008 DNC speech in support of Barack Obama still has the ability to send chills up spines.
A new article in Politico today reminds us of Kennedy’s extreme political savvy. Apparently, his opposition research team knew Mitt Romney's weaknesses 17 years ago. In his 1994 Senate campaign against none other than Willard M. Romney, a previously un-aired ad from Kennedy attacked Romney’s shady job record at the consulting firm Bain and Company.
The voiceover in the ad begins, "Mitt Romney says he saved Bain and Company, but he didn't tell you that on the day he took over, he had his predecessor fire hundreds of employees. Or that the way the company was rescued was with a federal bailout of $10 million.”
Romney touts his leadership as a business owner as a selling point for president. (Let's be honest, he’s certainly not going to win because of his humor).
Willard has remained relatively silent on the debt talk front. Why is that? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

Those ads reminded me of what a great loss the passing of Ted Kennedy was. Can you imagine if he were alive today with all the debt and budget talks going on? He was very knowledgeable and well respected, I imagine he would straighten people out real quick and let them know how ridiculous they are being!
i have thought of that many times myself, especially when the health care debate was going on.
Honestly, I will vote for whoever is opposing Romney. People like him are the scum of the earth. He's a spoiled brat who was born into wealth and privilege. He then uses his access to money as leverage to push people who do real work out of their jobs or to cut their wages, and takes the savings for himself. Mitt also charged millions of dollars in fees to companies that went bankrupt because of him.
I've been angry at Obama for unemployment being so high and I'd considered voting republican if the party put up a decent candidate. However, I'll vote for Obama or anyone else over Romney. That sleaze shouldn't be trusted with power (or taxpayer money, as his slurping at the government welfare trough has demonstrated).
What was it someone said about being born on third base and believing you'd hit a home run?
Why can't we see more, much more, of past statements of these folks? Seriously show somebody like Cantor saying how vital it was to raise the debt limit in the past. Notice how the right wing shows constantly Obama voted against the debt limit, yet for reasons unknown we never see Cantor or the rest of the Republicans voting in favor of raising the debt limit.
