I can see how the raising money from republicans will be difficult. Especially if they are business owners. I am one of them and i can tell you, I will not be hiring with ObamaCare hanging over my head and now the threat of tax increases. The money I would use to hire people with, I am afraid will go to the federal govt. At least they are better at spending the money I earn better than I am. Maybe they can create some more shovel ready jobs....oopps...Laugh - not as shovel ready as they thought. I am hunkering down for the worst and trying to survive this Obama era. Hopefully we will get some common sense next presidential election. Maybe then I can continue to grow my business and hire new employees. In the mean time, maybe Obama can give you a job.

If you are an American company looking to make more profit how do you do this in a new world order? Do you stay in America make products hire Americans pay them and ship those goods no matter what they are out and about paying twenty five percent taxes on them? Or do you move your business across the pond somewhere hire foreign workers for slave wages ship the goods TO America and pay TWO percent tax? Republican baggers will cry whine and you know what and barely get out without yelling "THATS why we need to cut taxes" So Americans will create jobs here. ONLY they haven't created one job. NOT one. You can even put them at twenty percent still well below average and run the table on our foreign competition. You do this why? Because they have NO where else to go. America is still the BIGGEST consumers on the block period. We buy anything and everything. Where are they gonna go? China? India? No. Because there growth is unstable and they are still barely working with coal. In fact you cannot be successful in this new world order without Americas buying and spending power. We hold all of the cards plus we are STILL the worlds only super power. You see with these low taxes for imports we hurt ourselves and any self respecting business man will leave our shores. Higher taxes will insure those un patriotic rich fools are made to look it. And they will have to move back to America shores to stay solvent and competitive. Those in our government who stick up for our low taxes on imports are by extension favoring endorsing and loving China India and other countries before they love us there own brethren.

Do the republican tea baggers who claim to care about America even address that in there plan? NOPE. They just want to cut it all and make us hurt make us smaller and watch our country burn. They have NO faith in America, in us. They think we are unable to manage money we will have to borrow. How do they know this? Because republican tea baggers are the problem. They did this to us and they refuse to change. They could borrow more money raises taxes change free trade to FAVOR America and take an OATH like they love so much to not frivolously spend. But they do not. In fact they wish to make YOU and I suffer more and more because they do not believe we can be great again. If everyone in congress had to count on the same benefits that the majority of us count on, have planned for, worked hard for and paid in to, there is no doubt in my mind that any one of them would even entertain the idea of making cuts in Social Security and/ or Medicare.

If anyone in congress had to suffer the financial difficulties, medical difficulties, housing difficulties or joblessness day after day that so many Americans face on a daily basis without an ounce of light at the end of the tunnel within their reach to provide for their families, they would not even take into consideration cutting public programs such as Medicaid.

What has happened to this county? What has happened to the people in congress that were elected by us, to protect and serve what is in the best interest of the majority of Americans whose backs this county was built on? You are here because of and for the majority of us, the voters, not because of or for the 1% that finance your campaigns for elections and comfortably line your pockets with even more money while good, hard working, dedicated people face the perils of today’s times and financial crisis.

I don't have a problem with different opinions - but I guess I don't understand why there was any downturn at all if the Bush tax cuts were in effect and so there should have been all this hiring -- what happened? Oh. Wall Street cut the feet out from under the middle class and everyone else with their phony financial 'instruments,' games, rules and fine print, so that cut pension and/or 401k/or savings. we bailed WS out so they would .... wait for it..... HIRE and LEND and oh my, they didn't.

So I don't get how it would matter a whit about having more tax cuts, what is a tax from "0"? If there is no DEMAND, no one buys, and no one BUYS if their income is limited or if they have lost their job, house or health insurance, any of which would limit their resources so they can't buy.

I agree that Obama is OUR president. I just don't agree with him taking the money I would otherwise use to hire people. I think I can use my money better than Obama can use it.

Regarding going back and getting quotes from people. When Obama was a Senator he said that voting to increase the debt ceiling indicated a lack of leadership. So both sides have contradicted themselves.

I respect Obama and I think he is smart. I just think his approach on resolving this and many other issues has been wrong. I wish there was not so much hatefulness and name calling.

I have a friend, she is a recent widow, lost her husband and home and all their savings because he had health problems for 5 years prior to his death. They worked hard all their lives, a total of 65 years combined, they saved and had a comfortable life but never expected to be wiped out because of health costs.

She now depends on social security and lives payday to payday, don't you dare insult such a decent person and say get a job and quit relying on the govt. I wish I could call you what you really are.....low life will do for now. Rich people can't do their fair share....BS.

My people earn $35-$50 per hour. Believe me, I have a payroll that I have to meet. It really comes down to folks like me that that believe that if I could keep more of my money, rather than pay higher taxes, pay for ObamaCare, etc, then i would hire more. Others, like you, believe that I should send the money to Obama and let him spend it in order to create jobs. I trust myself more than Obama. It is an honest difference. But since I own the business, I get to decide if I hire. And with Obamacare and tax increases coming, I am not going to hire. I owe it to my existing employees to keep the business healthy so that we stay in business and they stay employed. I am not rich, just hard working and I hate to see our policies go in the direction that hinders job creation. And that is where we have been and it seems that is where Obama is going. I don't think he is doing it on purpose. I just think he lacks the private sector experience to understand how his policies and speeches are affecting job creation in a really bad way.
